About jessica

At the moment, I am writing my debut novel. Before I chose to pursue my creative writing full-time, I shared the stories of Southwest Virginia as a producer at WDBJ7 for over two years. In the fall of 2020 I graduated, Magna Cum Laude, from Virginia Tech with a double major in Creative Writing and Multimedia Journalism.

My work has been published or is forthcoming in The Journal of the Virginia Writers Club, Red Cedar Review, Sunbow Zine, and Silhouette. My poem, “Tipping Point”, won second place in The Virginia Writers Club 2023 Golden Nib Award. In 2018 I was a finalist for the Steger Poetry Prize. I have spoken at the Glossolalia Literary Festival at Virginia Tech in 2018 and 2019. I was a speaker at the Fall 2020 Virginia Tech Creative Writing Showcase.
